BioCharger NG
A tabletop device with glowing plasma tubes that the maker says projects light, frequencies and pulsed electromagnetic fields into the room. It is not a medical device, and you sit nearby while it runs.
On the open floor now. Available at Einstein + Arnold Calhoun and included in Essential Membership. Not a member yet? Try it with a $39 Floor Day Pass.
How it works
The science, in plain English
Four energies in one device
The maker describes combining light, pulsed electromagnetic fields, frequencies and pulsed electric fields in preset programs. No published, peer-reviewed study has tested this device.
PEMF and cell signaling
Lab and animal studies on other devices suggest pulsed magnetic fields can affect cell signaling and inflammatory markers. Reviewers call for larger human trials.
Dose and distance matter
Published studies place measured devices on or near the body. The field strength where you sit, 3 to 5 feet away, has not been published, so that research cannot simply be applied here.
What the research suggests
Potential benefits
A quiet, relaxing session
Some people find the session calming, but no controlled study has measured this.
Joint comfort, other devices
A Cochrane review found targeted PEMF devices probably ease osteoarthritis pain modestly. This has not been shown for BioCharger.
How we grade the research. Stronger evidence means several controlled trials or a meta-analysis. Promising means some controlled trials with small or mixed results. Early research means small, lab or animal studies. Limited evidence means little or no independent research.
How it helps you
Where it fits in your plan
Every session is logged next to your labs, brain map and body scan, so at your 90-day re-test you can see what actually moved.
You want a screen free break
A session gives you about 15 quiet minutes. We present it as an experience, not a treatment.
You are curious about PEMF
We will walk you through what the research on other devices does and does not show.
You have joint pain
Talk with your doctor about targeted PEMF devices that have actually been studied for it.
Session protocol
What to expect
Session length
About 10 to 15 minutes.
Frequency
The maker suggests 3 to 5 sessions a week. No study supports a particular schedule.
How it feels
Nothing touches you. You sit 3 to 5 feet away while the tubes light up, and up to four people can share a session.
Before your first session. Not for use during pregnancy or with metal implants in the head. If you have a pacemaker, defibrillator or insulin pump, you stay at least 6 feet away. Talk with your physician first if you have epilepsy or use medicine patches, and use an eye mask if you are light sensitive.
Straight talk
What the research does not show
Test first. Guess never. We do not claim it raises cellular voltage, speeds recovery, improves sleep or treats any condition, and we do not borrow results from other PEMF devices. It is a wellness experience.
